Working in Transitioning Societies

Communities experiencing environmental shifts within agricultural production has lead to massive outward migration patterns and shifts of cultural dynamics of former the Soviet Union. The recent shifts of outward migration in Eurasia and the Caucasus (rural to urban; international) display a complexity of social, cultural, environmental, and political issues. My research examines these complex dynamics from a geographic lens that is spatial and empirical.
